Welcome to our Temple

The Buddhist Institute

Tashi Delek! UCF is excited to announce that the Buddhist Institute of Universal Compassion is now open and ready to serve you.

Our Tibetan Buddhist Temple in Spokane, WA, led by Venerable Geshe Thupten Phelgye, offers public teaching and meditation every Sunday at 10:00 AM (Pacific Time). Visit us online via Zoom or in-person. Doors open at 9:30 AM to allow time to grab a cushion, visit the altar, and mingle within the Sangha community. You can find Zoom links to join us and study Buddhism and meditation online by visiting our Event Calendar or clicking the link below.

All with a genuine interest in Buddhism are welcome to come and enjoy the privilege of receiving teaching from an authentic Master. As a result, you will find true transformation through the Dharma.

Teachings are presided by the most authentic mentor Venerable Professor Geshe-la Phelgye, a Tibetan Buddhist monk since 1973. Firstly, he earned his Geshe degree in addition to founding UCF. After that Geshe-la took a solitary retreat to practice what he learned while living in a cave nestled in the Himalayas. Moreover, he then served on the Tibetan Parliament in Exile with H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama.

We’re always hosting various Buddhist Holiday events as well as weekend retreats at the Buddhist Institute.

Please stay tuned to our calendar so you don’t miss out on these incredible opportunities.
