Buddhist Meditation & Teaching

May 23 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Geshe Phelgye teaching at the Buddhist Institute of Universal Compassion temple

Learn Buddhist Meditation, Philosophy and chat with Ven. Prof. Geshela Phelgye

Everyone interested is welcome to join us at the Buddhist Institute as we study Universal Compassion, Buddhist philosophy, practice meditation, pray for happiness for oneself, and world peace.

We ask that everyone who attends the teaching at the Buddhist Institute in Spokane wear a mask, take their temperature beforehand, and practice safe social distancing protocols. Buddhist teaching and meditation will also occur via Zoom; this way, everyone near and far can participate.

About Our Teacher:

Venerable Geshe Prof. Phelgye, former Member of Tibetan Parliament in Exile, joined Serajey Monastic University at 17. Firstly, he received his novice ordination from the senior tutor to His Holiness the Dalai Lama (Kyabje Ling Rinpoche) in 1974. He then studied rigorously for the next 18 years earning his Geshe degree in 1991 as a result.

In 1993, with blessings from H.H. The Dalai Lama, he went on a hermitage retreat in a cave on the mountains of Dharamsala for five years.

Learn more about Geshe-la by visiting his Wikipedia page here.

All services offered are free of charge; however, your generous offerings contribute to the Buddhist Institute’s maintenance; they are genuinely appreciated.
