Head over to the Institute this Sunday as Geshe-la Phelgye presents us with with a special celebration at the Buddhist Institute August 4th, during our regular service.  Chokhor Düchen is one of the most important “great occasion(s)”Â (düchen) of the Tibetan Buddhist calendar as it marks Buddha Shakyamuni’s historic first turning of the Dharma wheel, that took place in Deer Park,Varanasi.

It is the Four Noble Truths thats paved the way to Nirvana for countless Buddhists over the past 2600 years; and continues to be the foundation of the path into the Buddha-hood for Mahayana practitioners. This important day falls on the fourth day of the sixth lunar month in the Tibetan calendar, which is this-coming Sunday; Please RSVP via responding with your name by emailing info@universalcompassion.org if you’re able to join us with this incredible opportunity.

If you live in the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene area and would like to learn more about Buddhism from a master, this is the perfect place to start. There will be a celebratory vegan/vegetarian potluck afterwards.
